Drew Estate Announces Suspension of In-Person Events During Remainder of 2021

Today Drew Estate announced the cancellation of 2021 in-person events including the 2021 Barn Smoker season due to increasing health and safety concerns resulting from the rise of the COVID-19 Delta Variant as it spreads throughout the country at very rapid rates.

We have made this painful decision after significant consideration to ensure the safety of our team members, our vendors, and, of course, the tens of thousands of consumers who attend our events nationwide. All Barn Smoker attendees (ticket holders) will receive a full refund of their ticket price within 3-5 business days of this announcement and will have the first opportunity to purchase Barn Smoker tickets next season.

Drew Estate’s President and Founder Jonathan Drew personally adds, “Barn Smoker season has always been one of the foundational cornerstones behind our philosophy of fellowship. This contribution to modern day Cigar Culture is something that Drew Estate is incredibly proud of … and it simply breaks our hearts to have to push the Barn Smoker season back to 2022. We send our deepest gratitude and regrets to the farmers, suppliers, food service providers, trade partners, retailers, media family, and the core Barn Smoker team who both work for Drew Estate as well as travel with us to spread the DE culture and love. Above all, much love to our faithful consumers and fans who inspire us to reach new heights and live our dreams every day. See you soon.”

Drew Estate Barn Smokers Return Beginning in August 2021

Drew Estate will resume its Barn Smoker program in 2021 after a year’s hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The company will host three Barn Smokers beginning with the Connecticut Barn Smoker on Aug. 14-15 in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley. The Kentucky Barn Smoker will follow in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on Oct. 9. Finally, the Florida Barn Smoker will take place on Nov. 13-14 in Clermont, Florida.

Drew Estate hosted its first Barn Smoker in 2014 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, bringing cigar consumers to the farms where Drew Estate sources some of its specialty, often rare tobaccos. Attendees are immersed into the real American tobacco experience by learning about tobacco growing, leaf processing and finishing and cigarmaking techniques. Each guest will receive special Drew Estate cigars and exclusive Barn Smoker swag, while tasting local cuisine and sampling premium spirits in a festival atmosphere.

Drew Estate’s 2021 Barn Smoker program will include a few small changes to protect attendees and Drew Estate personnel and event vendors from Covid-19. The Connecticut and Florida Barn Smokers, typically the two largest events in the Barn Smoker calendar, will each be spread over two separate event days, which will accommodate smaller crowds for each event session and each event session will require a separate ticket Additionally, Drew Estate will follow any local protocols required to ensure safety at the events.

As always, Barn Smoker attendees will enjoy an immersive deep dive into a variety of unique sensory activations that will focus on Drew Estate brands, including: Undercrown, Herrera Estelí, Pappy Van Winkle, Joya de Nicaragua, FSG, Tabak Especial and ACID, while chillin’ with Drew Estate ambassadors, including company founder and president, Jonathan Drew; master blender, Willy Herrera; and La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate factory spokesman, Pedro Gomez. Of course, your favorite Drew Estate sales force members will be at the Barn Smokers as well.

From the Wynwood Safehouse, Drew Estate’s founder and president, Jonathan Drew says, “Last year was tough for everybody and we all missed celebrating American tobacco, smoking and having a drink together … but 2021 is going to prove that we are all unbeaten and unbowed. This year’s Barn Smokers will have a bit more special meaning than before because we’re finally going be together again in #fellowship after a long period of isolation. I’m excited to bond with everyone and raise money for our Cigars For Warriors peeps.”

There are three ticket tiers available for each 2021 Barn Smoker—General Admission, VIP and VIP Plus Dinner. General Admission tickets enable consumers to attend one day of the Barn Smoker event and includes a packet of swag and 10 Drew Estate cigars. Consumers who purchase a VIP ticket will have early access to the farm to join us for a Tabak Especial breakfast experience and receive exclusive VIP Barn Smoker swag. The VIP Plus Dinner ticket will include an invitation to dinner with Drew Estate Ambassadors on the Friday night before each Barn Smoker, early access for a Tabak breakfast experience and admission for both days of the 2-day farm events.

Drew Estate Cancels 2020 Barn Smoker Season and Deploys “The Barn Smoker Goodwill Act”

Today Drew Estate announces the cancellation of the 2020 Barn Smoker season due to ongoing health concerns surrounding COVID-19.  Additionally, Drew Estate creates the “Barn Smoker Goodwill Act of 2020.”

Barn Smokers are among the highlights on Drew Estate’s calendar every year, and an opportunity we cherish to share in a one-of-a-kind experience with the cigar loving community.  After significant consideration, however, Drew Estate has determined that it is necessary to make this difficult decision in order to ensure the safety of our staff, the staff of the incredible farms with whom we partner, and, of course, the thousands of Barn Smoker attendees who travel across the country to take part in our extraordinary American Tobacco Experience.

While we are disappointed that we will not be able to hold the festivals at the farms this year, Drew Estate is proud to announce the introduction of the “Barn Smoker Goodwill Act of 2020,” which is designed and funded to show appreciation, love, and fellowship to our inner circle during the difficult times we are all facing.

The Barn Smoker Goodwill Act works in the following manner … All Attendees who purchased a ticket at any/all tier levels will immediately be refunded 100%.  In addition, each ticket holder will be asked to submit their address via https://forms.gle/QAbRLC7XDVEKWVeS9 and Drew Estate will be shipping free of charge the complete 2020 Barn Smoker Swag Set that they would have received by attending their ticketed event. This package does not include cigars and will be shipped out by August 1st.  Beyond this, Drew Estate will donate $10,000 per Barn Smoker, for a total of $50,000, to Cigars for Warriors, doubling down on our commitment to our deployed troops.

Finally, on the date of each scheduled Barn Smoker, Drew Estate will launch a two-hour “Virtual Barn Smoker Herf,” hosted on Facebook Live, open to everyone.   While these Herfs are not designed to be exact Barn Smoker replicas, we plan on celebrating each date together.  These unique experiences will include the Drew Estate Ambassadors and our Farmer Partners – and tell a new part of the story not previously showcased during our usual Barn Smoker Festivals.

The dates for the Virtual Barn Smoker Herfs (hosted on www.facebook.com/drewestatecigar ) are below with times to be announced closer to the event:

•            Pennsylvania Barn Smoker Virtual Event: July 25th, 2020

•            Connecticut Barn Smoker Virtual Event: August 8th, 2020

•            Kentucky Barn Smoker Virtual Event: September 26th, 2020

•            Louisiana Barn Smoker Virtual Event: October 4th, 2020

•            Florida Barn Smoker Virtual Event: November 14th, 2020

From the Wynwood Safehouse, Jonathan Drew Founder and President of Drew Estate adds, “It is with great sadness that we’ve come to this decision.  Barn Smoker, alongside Cigar Safari, are the experiential programs that we are most deeply connected to here at Drew Estate. I’m also incredibly appreciative to our Consumer Engagement Team, who architected the concept of the “Barn Smoker Goodwill Act of 2020” … in my opinion, going above and beyond for our supporters, our extended family, who had made plans to join us on the sacred farms.  We thank you for your love and support … always #De4L!”
